Your Orthodontic Options

Let’s figure out which type of braces suits your smile goals while fitting your lifestyle.

No matter whether a child, teen or adult walks through our doors, if someone is looking to fix their crowded and misaligned smiles then our bracesdental team is here to help. With our Frederick and Urbana MD, dentists, Dr. Jared Lawson, Dr. EJ Stringer and Dr. Amadeus Lopez; periodontist Dr. Ashley Seals, oral surgeon, Dr. Brian Chang; endodontist, Dr. Pratik Patel; and orthodontist, Dr. Stephen Tigani, on your side, we are sure to find the right orthodontic treatment to fit you.

Traditional Braces

These are the type of braces that typically come to mind when thinking of orthodontic treatment; however, they have gotten a bit of a makeover over the decades. Metal braces have become sleeker and the wires have become thinner, making the braces less bulky and cumbersome. Traditional braces can also be made from tooth-colored materials to make them more discreet.

Traditional braces are great for patients of all ages, especially for those dealing with complex or complicated tooth movements or for cases in which the jaws need to be moved or realigned.

Invisalign

Most teens and adults balk at the idea of needing braces; however, having a straight smile will not only improve your appearance but can also reduce your risk for cavities, gum disease or dental damage (e.g. cracks or fractures). If the idea of wearing traditional braces has you running for the hills, then it’s time you asked our Frederick dentists about Invisalign.

This clear, almost invisible system uses flexible, plastic aligners that are custom-made to fit over your teeth. They look similar to mouthguards or whitening trays, but each aligner is designed to gradually shift teeth into the proper position. Aligners are also completely removable, so you can take them out before mealtimes or before brushing and flossing.

Tigani Aligners

Of course, since you have our expert dental team right here to help get you the smile you want you may decide to use our very own Tigani Orthodontic Aligners (TOA) to achieve the perfect results. This system is not Invisalign; however, it does still use a set of removable, clear aligners, which are worn for up to 3 weeks before replacing them with the next set in your treatment plan. Tigani aligners can often be a less expensive option than Invisalign.

Aligners should be worn for at least 20 hours a day, but you may choose to remove them before a special occasion, important date or work presentation. This is a great option for those in the professional world who don’t want everyone to know that they have braces.

If you are ready to get one step closer to the smile you want then it’s time to turn to the orthodontic experts at Pearlfection Dentistry in Frederick and Urbana MD. Call our office today to schedule a consultation.
